Modernising Part B (human tissue products) of the Prescribed List

Learn about the proposed reforms to Part B of the Prescribed List.

What the reform is about

We are modernising Part B in line with the changes to the rest of the Prescribed List.

How we will achieve this

There are two initiatives to modernise Part B:

  1. Revise the classification structure;
  2. Introduce health technology assessment for human tissue products.

We have and will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to progress this reform measure.

Timeline

We publish a high level summary  which was prepared by the department in December 2024.

This document does not provide the department’s analysis of the stakeholder submissions but rather provides a high level summary of the feedback received and our response to each of the 10 recommendations on the PricewaterhouseCoopers’ final report.

This summary of feedback should be read in conjunction with stakeholder feedback submissions that have also been published.

We have also published individual submissions to our consultation on the report.
