About HUS

Patients with haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS) have acute renal failure, a low red blood cell count (anaemia) low blood platelets (thrombocytopenia). This condition occurs in a small number of patients who are infected with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC).
