Committees and groups

The Health Services Data Advisory Group (HS DAG) advises us on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health data. It also contributes to the development and continuous improvement of the Health Data Portal, which collects key data.

The Comprehensive Primary Health Care Sustainability Advisory Committee monitors the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme funding model. The committee then advises us on how it is performing and how we can continue to improve it.

The First Nations Health Funding Transition Advisory Group guides the work of the First Nations Health Funding Transition Program (FNHFTP).

The First Nations Governance Group (FNHGG) is a formal partnership between the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and First Nations health experts and leaders to guide work under the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2021-2031.

The Implementation Plan Advisory Group (IPAG) is no longer active. It worked with the Australian Government to review, assess and guide action under previous the Implementation Plan for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2013–2023.

The Indigenous Health Research Fund Expert Advisory Panel (EAP) advised the government on the research priorities for this fund, which is supported by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

The partnership brings together First Nations and government representatives. It aims to improve social and emotional wellbeing and mental health and reduce suicide rates.

The First Nations Aged Care Governance Group (FNACGG) advises the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing on healthy ageing and aged care reform for First Nations people.

The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Protection (NATSIHP) subcommittee of the Australian Health Protection Committee (AHPC), replaces the former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group on COVID-19.
