Nurse Practitioner Steering Committee

The Nurse Practitioner Steering Committee (NPSC) provided advice and expertise on the development of the Nurse Practitioner Workforce Plan.

Role

The Nurse Practitioner Steering Committee (NPSC) provided advice and expertise on the development of the Nurse Practitioner Workforce Plan.

The NPSC:

  • provided evidence-based advice on key policy issues related to development of the plan
  • identified priority issues facing nurse practitioners
  • identified relevant projects within their own organisation or jurisdiction
  • identified and communicated with relevant stakeholders that were not represented on the committee
  • liaised with the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Reference Group (NMSRG) to:
  • reviewed plan drafts and provided timely feedback to the department.

The NPSC will hold a minimum of 4 meetings per year. Meetings can be face-to-face or via videoconference.
