LGBTIQA+ Health and Wellbeing 10-year National Action Plan Expert Advisory Group (EAG)

The LGBTIQA+ Health and Wellbeing 10-Year National Action Plan Expert Advisory Group informs the Australian Government about the health needs of people in the LGBTIQA+ community.

Role

The EAG is chaired by the Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care and Assistant Minister for Indigenous Health, the Hon Ged Kearney MP. 

The EAG provides advice to the Australian Government to guide the development of Australia’s first 10-year National Action Plan for the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ people. This includes advice to Government and Department of Health and Aged Care on:

  • health and wellbeing issues that impact people in the LGBTIQA+ community
  • consultation materials for the national consultation with LGBTIQA+ people.

Meetings

The first meeting for the LGBTIQA+ EAG took place on 23 June 2023 at Australian Parliament House in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Meetings take place approximately every 3 months. Additional meetings may be held if needed.
