Role
The committee:
- advises on aged care policies, programs and services aimed at older people from diverse backgrounds and those with diverse characteristics and life experiences
- supports members on aged care reference groups that represent diverse groups.
Members:
- share feedback and input from their network, including providers and older people, their families and carers
- advise on diversity for new and existing policies and programs
- give feedback on papers for aged care reference groups, as required
- attend aged care reference groups, as required.

Committee members:
- have significant expertise in aged care and the needs of diverse groups
- represent their constituent organisations and associated networks.
The core membership advises on all matters referred to the committee. A broader group of members advises on matters specific to their individual expertise.

Meetings
The committee meets:
- at least 4 times a year
- on an ad-hoc basis to discuss urgent matters.
