Aged Care Diversity Consultative Committee

The Aged Care Diversity Consultative Committee advises us on how the aged care system can better cater to people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs and life experience.

The committee:

  • advises on aged care policies, programs and services aimed at older people from diverse backgrounds and those with diverse characteristics and life experiences
  • supports members on aged care reference groups that represent diverse groups.

  • share feedback and input from their network, including providers and older people, their families and carers
  • advise on diversity for new and existing policies and programs
  • give feedback on papers for aged care reference groups, as required
  • attend aged care reference groups, as required.

See the committee’s terms of reference.

Committee members:

  • have significant expertise in aged care and the needs of diverse groups
  • represent their constituent organisations and associated networks.

The core membership advises on all matters referred to the committee. A broader group of members advises on matters specific to their individual expertise.
