It starts out small, so no one really notices.
But then exercise feels a little harder.
[Heavy breathing]
And it seems we're coughing more than we used to.
[Coughing]
Since when did a few stairs take us out?
[Puffed breathing]
And when did our laugh become a wheeze?
[Wheezing]
Because if this is only the start of vaping's effects...
Why are we still doing this?
If we think about how much money we've spent on vapes…
Why are we still doing this?
It starts out small
But then things that used to be easy, feel a little harder
[Heavy breathing]
Maybe it's time we ask…
Why are we still doing this
[Heavy breathing]
If vaping is making it harder to keep up…
Why are we still doing this?

I'm Charli Grant and I'm playing football overseas in the UK. I first moved overseas from Australia when I was 19 and it was definitely a challenge.
New environment, building a new routine, being so far away from family and friends.
For me, settling into a new environment was made so much easier because I wasn't doing it on my own.
I was very fortunate to have some Australians being based here supporting me through those challenges, like Katrina Gorry.
Mini is a huge part of my support system and she's really reinforced the idea that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
It's OK to ask for help and I think that applies beyond football as well, especially when it comes to protecting your health.
Vaping is something that many young people are exposed to today through friends, social media and everyday environments.
It may seem harmless, but it can have huge physical and mental health effects and can become really addictive and really hard to stop.
If you're faced with the challenge of struggling to quit vaping, struggling with the cravings or finding it hard to say no when people around you are vaping, it's important to have supportive people around you who care.
They can make a real difference, just like my challenge of when I moved overseas and having Mini there to support me.

Are you holding your vape? Like right now?
Take this instead.
And if you hate that one, squishy one, spiky one, ones that go wrr. Like let's get a little creative with it.
OK but imagine like bringing a little guy to the hang instead of your vape like that is whimsical as hell.
Have you heard about that little breathing necklace anxiety whistle thing to replace the physical action of like choofing on a vape?
I'm interested.
There's many very valid health reasons to try and get off the vapes, but imagine the aura, the whimsy maxing of pulling up with a little bubble guy. Obsessed with that.
If you're a little over kissing your vape as soon as you wake up.
OK, morning breath.
Kidding, love you.
Let's make a pact that we're gonna do one thing tomorrow morning instead of reaching for it. You may just instinctually pocket your vape with your phone and your keys when you leave the house.
