This program provides free Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) medicines to patients of Aboriginal health services in remote areas. It operates under section 100 of the National Health Act 1953.

The Remote Northern Territory Locum Program funds health professionals to practise in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory for short-term paid placements of 3 to 12 weeks.

The Remote Vocational Training Scheme delivers structured distance education and supervision to doctors while they provide general medical services in a remote or isolated community. The 4-year program meets the requirements for fellowship of both ACRRM and RACGP.

The Research Data Infrastructure initiative will provide $100 million over 10 years from 2024–25. It will fund the creation or extension of national research data infrastructure with a focus on data registries, biobanks and data linkage platforms to support Australian medical research.

The Researcher Exchange and Development within Industry initiative was an initiative under the Medical Research Future. It funded industry placements, mentoring and exchange programs for researchers.

Residential aged care is for older people who can no longer live independently at home. The Australian Government funds residential aged care to make it more affordable and accessible.
