Declaration of Greater Sydney as a Hotspot for Commonwealth support widened

The Australian Government Chief Medical Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, has widened the Sydney COVID-19 Hotspot for the purposes of Commonwealth support to Greater Sydney including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong and extended the Hotspot to 9 July 2021.

The Australian Government Chief Medical Officer, Professor Paul Kelly, has extended the City of Sydney, Waverley, Woollahra, Bayside, Canada Bay, Inner West and Randwick as a COVID-19 Hotspot for the purposes of Commonwealth support until 2 July 2021.

New advice on COVID-19 vaccines

There have been changes to the advice on COVID-19 vaccines. The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine as the preferred vaccine for those aged 16 to 59 years.
