National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 2021–2031

The new National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan sets the policy direction for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing. It will guide the development of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policies, programs and initiatives over the next 10 years.

Health Ministers Meeting (HMM) – Communique 6 December 2024

Health Ministers met in Hobart today to discuss several health system reform priorities including the National Health Reform Agreement negotiations, health workforce reform, First Nations Health Care in Prisons, aged care, urgent care, and the current mpox outbreak.

The National Review of First Nations Health Care in Prisons (2023–24)

In November 2023, we engaged Nous Consortium to undertake the National Review of First Nations Health Care in Prisons. This report presents evidence and recommendations for systemic reform to improve health care for First Nations people in places of detention and on release.
