Sunita and Barbara shared a cheeky and loving spark. Their friendship transcended age and brought much joy to both of them. This video is in loving memory of Barbara.

You're looking beautiful as ever.

And you too.

Good to see you.

Good to see you too.

Tell me how old you are again, Barbara.

28 and a half, 28 1/2.

I'm 16, so you're way older than me.

So what's your secret?

Smoking, drinking, going out with bad men and swearing.

Sonny visits Barbara each week.

They enjoy having tea, working on crafts and doing a spot of gardening.

Are you going to have that one as well?

Yeah, why not?

I'm just relocating it.

Let's just make sure nobody saw that.

You look very sweet.

And then you started talking, and I thought, oh, she sounds like my kind of purse.

You walked in the door.

And it's kind of, oh, is she going to like me?

You looked all right.

And I thought, yeah, we'll keep her good.

I'm glad she did.

You're obviously got quite a young outlook.

Well, I'm childish.

Well, it's a good way to be though, isn't it?

I haven't grown up yet.

I don't want to grow up, you know, I think that's why we have so much fun

moving together as well.

You're a little bit kooky, a little bit like,

different like I am too.

It.

It sealed that friendship straight away.

And I thought, yeah, I'm going to come back and see her.

We always have a laugh, don't we?

I'm on camera.

Why did you decide to become a volunteer?

I'm from the UK, I'm a Pom, my mum who's 90, she's over there and I would love to be able to see her every week but I can't.

So I thought what can I do?

And I've been doing this for about 3 years now.

And you are replacing my mum, how's that?

Alright, well, OK.

Since entering residential aged care, Barbara became withdrawn,

spending many days alone in her room.

Sunny's visits encouraged her out of her shell and brought a spark back to her life.

Have you learnt anything from me?

I've learnt that the age is just a number.

I think to be true to yourself and be honest as well.

To me, you're not the volunteer, you're my friend.

That comes on Wednesday.

It means the world.

I miss her when she goes.

You're my spark.

Oh wonderful.
