The National Best Practice Framework for Early Childhood Intervention is a guide on how best to support children who have developmental concerns or delay or disability.
Practitioners like speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physios, partner with you to build your confidence to support your child's development.
The framework has been developed, by a big team that includes researchers and experts, but it also includes families and really listening to their experiences about what works best.

Understanding the importance of consistent routines and changing activities to match my child's interests has made a huge difference to their development.
Speaker 1
The framework really establishes some key principles. You see your practitioner where your child spends the most time. At home, at pre-school, in the park, in their everyday play and routines. It's also about the places where children spend time - alongside other children, the importance of being included and participating at childcare and kinder, and what they can do to best support that child in their learning.
Speaker 4

Speaker 4
The practitioners are just a small part of the week. There are so many opportunities for your child to learn and grow every day.
Speaker 5
More appointments aren’t always better. Make time for rest and just being a family.
Speaker 1
We really want children to feel good about themselves, to feel like they have connections and relationships with friends and with the people around them who love them. And feel like they can have a say, however they might do that.
Speaker 2

Speaker 1
You are the most important person in your child's team. The framework helps give you information, so that you can make the best decisions for your child and family.
