MyMedicare is a new way to formalise relationships between patients and their healthcare providers. When you register in MyMedicare and select your preferred healthcare provider, they can get additional government funding to deliver the care you need. Many healthcare providers across Australia have already registered in MyMedicare because it will support them to offer tailored care and services to fit the needs of their regular patients.

Seeing your GP regularly and formalising your relationship with them through MyMedicare can lead to better health outcomes.

When a patient and their preferred provider are both registered, the benefits include:

  • access to longer Medicare-funded telehealth consultations
  • connections to more appropriate care for people with chronic conditions who visit hospital frequently
  • more regular GP visits and better care planning for people living in a residential aged care home.

Talk to your GP or health professional about registering in MyMedicare. For more information visit health.gov.au/mymedicare.
