8.17 NDIS Applied Principles and Tables of Support concerning the justice system
Recommendation 8.17 said to review existing rules and guidelines to improve support for people with disability in the justice system.
Governments are working together to make sure people with disability get better support from both the NDIS and the justice system.
The NDIA recently completed a project (the Justice Transition Project) which made 13 clear suggestions to help people with a disability move out of the justice system and get the support they need.
The report also gives advice on how governments can work more closely to make the process easier.
The NDIA is committed to putting these suggestions into action.
