My favourite moment so far, my placement has been going to the patient house and involving in this holistic care, person centre care and communicating with the patients and families. You know one thing that I realized in going into people house actually makes their life a lot easier.
I have experienced holistic approaches towards the clients. Mostly I've learnt how to deal with unexpected situations, like when you go in anyone's house, you can see anything there, like any situation you can face.
And it was an experience for me learning how people can be discharged from the hospital, and we provide them with the best nursing care afterwards.
I have seen a lot of wounds in this placement, taking care of them, knowing more about bandages and what we are using as a cleaning solution.
The buddies and the staff at Pop-Up Health are so supportive and so kind and they are always so excited to see you in the morning. Even though I completed 120 hours, they were always so excited to see me in the morning.
They are really experienced, and they are really keen to educate.
I'm a person which asks a lot of questions, so my nurse buddies were so cooperative. Even the facilitators were so nice.
After completing my nursing placement at Pop-Up Health, I would definitely consider my career in community and aged care. I felt a different kind of a joy when I went on a run to make their worst days a little bit better.
I loved working with Pop-Up Health as I gained a lot of experience from them.
I would definitely recommend Pop-Up Health to other students or universities because it's a great facility to learn more and more.
