Previous Memorandum of Understanding with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission

The previous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) described how the Department of Health and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission would work together.

This MoU recognised and supported the linked work and responsibilities across the Department of Health and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

It described how the two organisations would work together and their responsibilities as set out in the:

  • Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018
  • Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Act 2018
  • Aged Care Act 1997
  • Principles and legislative instruments made under these Acts

This MoU was superseded by an updated agreement  between the Department of Health and Aged Care and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission signed on 5 July 2024.
