Commonwealth funding through the Public Health and Chronic Disease Grant Program, has been provided from 2017-18 to 2019-20 for 12 national palliative care projects. The national projects primarily focus on workforce, education, training, quality improvement and advance care planning. These projects do not fund palliative care service delivery. An evaluation of these projects was completed by Urbis Pty Ltd in 2019 determining the reach, impact and effectiveness of the 2017-2020 cohort of palliative care projects.
