We engaged Healthcare Management Advisors (HMA) to evaluate the effectiveness of the Infection Prevention and Control Lead (IPC Lead) role in residential aged care.
The IPC Lead role is a key component of the Australian Government’s reform initiatives following the 2020 Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety’s special report on COVID-19 and aged care. By December 1, 2020, all residential aged care homes were required to appoint an IPC Lead, a requirement that remains in ongoing.
