Economic Evaluation of the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme Phase I

The Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme (IAHP) funds comprehensive primary health care services. This report provides insight into the program’s efficiency and return on investment.

Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) are central to the provision of culturally appropriate health care.  

Health engaged Deakin University to: 

  • analyse the costs of ACCHSs 

  • review the economic literature relating to the economic performance of ACCHSs 

  • examine the relationship between ACCHS care and hospitalisations. 

This paper summarises the findings.
