The Code is designed to work alongside other elements of the disability services and inclusionprovisions to promote the quality and safety of services funded by the Department of Social Services. The Code is designed to mirror the existing Code of Conduct that applies to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) providers and their employees, creating greater alignment across Commonwealth funded disability supports and services. Providing quality supports for people with disability involves the right capabilities but also the right attitudes. Providers and the people they engage need to be familiar with the rights of people with disability, preventing harm and responding appropriately if harm occurs.
