The Code is designed to work alongside other elements of the disability services and inclusion provisions to promote a safe and skilled workforce. Providing quality supports for people with disability involves not only the right capabilities but also the right attitudes. Employees and the people they engage need to be familiar with the principles of respecting the rights of people with disability, preventing harm and responding appropriately if harm occurs.
