This manual for registered providers of approved residential care homes covers: the quality indicators, how to collect and submit your data; a range of tools and resources to support continuous improvement; information on how to access and use the QI Program tools in the GPMS.

Collection description

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare publishes quarterly quality indicator data on its GEN aged care website. This data must be interpreted according to the version of the National Aged Care Quality Indicator Program Manual (Part A) that was in use at the time. This collection contains current and previous versions of the manual, to allow accurate interpretation of the data reports. 

Current version (November 2025)

Version 4.0

  • Version 4.0 came into effect on 1 April 2025.

Version 3.0

  • Version 3.0 came into effect on 1 April 2023.

Version 2.0

  • Version 2.0 was in effect from 1 July 2021 to 31 March 2023.

Version 1.0

  • Version 1.0 was in effect from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2021.
