About the BRoSS
The Bonded Return of Service System (BRoSS) is the web portal used by participants of the statutory Bonded Medical Program.
Participants use BRoSS to plan, record and manage their Return of Service Obligation (RoSO) and notifiable event reporting obligations under the program.
You are responsible for keeping your BRoSS record up to date. To help you, BRoSS includes guidance, automatic notifications, and messages within the system. BRoSS has the latest and most effective security and personal information authentication processes, and it complies with the Privacy Act 1988.
Access to BRoSS
First time access
To access BRoSS for the first time, you must link to the Health Applications Portal service via your myGov account. You will receive a user ID and temporary linking password to do this.
We encourage you to access BRoSS from a desktop. It is more difficult to use a mobile browser or the myGov app, particularly when trying to link the Health Applications Portal to myGov for the first time.
New students
New students will be granted access once their university has provided us the necessary credentials.
If you are opting into the program from a legacy scheme, we will grant access when your transition from your legacy scheme has been finalised.
Ongoing access to BRoSS
After you have linked from myGov, then logged in to BRoSS for the first time, you will no longer need your user ID or temporary linking password for future logins.
Legislation
Please familiarise yourself with the legislation governing the Bonded Medical Program, as much of your responsibilities and requirements under the program, are actioned through the Bonded Return of Service System.
We encourage participants to seek independent advice before opting in.
Rule: Health Insurance (Bonded Medical Program) Rule 2020.
Act (Part VD): Health Insurance Act 1973.
