Architects and designers are invited to help shape the future of aged care accommodation through the Reimagining Where We Live design ideas competition. A digital Revit site plan for the regional town site (1 x 12,000 sqm) is available for Revit users to download as a resource for the competition.

Voice of experience: Gwenda Darling – living with dementia

Gwenda Darling shares with us her story and views on what well-designed aged care accommodation design looks and feels like. Gwenda describes to us how good design leads to meaningful change.

Virtual reality workshops

Dementia Australia is offering free access for competition participants to Educational Dementia Immersive Experience (EDIE) virtual reality workshops. This is a 3 hour workshop enabling participants to ‘see’ the world through the eyes of a person living with dementia. The workshops are scheduled for: 

  • Brisbane – 7 November 2023 (10 am to 1 pm) 
  • Melbourne – 8 November 2023 (10 am to 1 pm)
  • Sydney – 15 November 2023 (10 am to 1 pm)

There are limited spots available, which will be filled on a ‘first in best dressed’ basis. EDIE registrations close 48 hours before the date of the workshop. Participation is not mandatory.
