Abby started experiencing symptoms of perimenopause a lot earlier than when it was confirmed by her doctor.
“I was just chalking it up to being busy and tired or having a vitamin deficiency,” she says.
After seeing one doctor initially who assured her everything was normal, she saw a different doctor a few years later, recognising that she wasn’t okay.
Abby says she was getting angry and impatient, forgetting things, putting on weight, having night sweats, an overactive bladder and trouble sleeping.
“I just said I don’t think I’m okay.”
Abby has previously tried Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) and other treatment options, and is considering talking to her doctor about taking MHT again.
Now 46, Abby encourages other women to listen to their instincts, knowing they are usually right.
