Evaluation of the Prescribed List reforms

An evaluation is under way to determine whether our reforms are on track to meet their goals, and determine future direction and priorities.

About the evaluation

Nous Group is evaluating the reforms, with the support of an external advisory group and an internal evaluation team.

The evaluation is looking at:

  • whether the reforms are being implemented as intended
  • whether the reforms are achieving the expected outcomes
  • the ongoing and future directions, opportunities and priorities for the reforms.

Status

The interim evaluation report 2 of the Prescribed List reforms is now available. The interim evaluation report 2 covers the period from July 2024 to June 2025. It builds on the interim evaluation report 1.

Findings from interim evaluation report 2 reinforce and provide further commentary on many of the findings from interim evaluation report 1.

The interim evaluation report 1 covers the period from May 2021 to June 2024 and reports on whether the reforms are:

  • being implemented as intended
  • achieving the expected outcomes

The baseline evaluation report was published on 18 October 2024 and:

  • provides the status of the key projects at the start of the reforms
  • outlines how each project will contribute to achieving the reform objectives.

Future reports

Nous Group will provide us with:
