Managing a multi-purpose service

As an approved provider delivering services under the Multi-Purpose Service Program (MPSP) you must comply with legislation and obligations under your MPSP agreement.

MPSP Policy Manual

The policy manual provides you guidance on your operational requirements as an MPSP provider and explains the Australian Government’s policy context.

Part of the MPSP subsidy is linked to the Accessibility/Remoteness Index of Australia (ARIA).

Annual reporting requirements

Each MPSP provider must submit required annual reports to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. This includes an Annual Activity Report (AAR), a Service Demographics Report (SDR) and an Annual statement of financial compliance and income and expenditure (SFCIE).

These reports collect information on the delivery of aged care services at each MPS.

This information supports the Australian Government to manage the program, monitor service delivery in rural and remote communities, and plan for future demand. Completion and submission of these reports is a legislative requirement under the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Rules 2025.
