About the Health and Medical Research Reinvestment Program
The Heath and Medical Research Reinvestment Program will provide $127.6 million over 4 years from 2026–27 to support the implementation and commercialisation of highly promising projects.
Why it is important
A critical gap exists between the conclusion of government-funded research grants and the integration of research findings into standards of care and the healthcare system.
Objectives
This program will extend funding to nationally valuable research projects that have demonstrated success – helping them to move towards translation and full-scale implementation.
Meeting our objectives
We will monitor the program in accordance with the principles and approach detailed in the MRFF Monitoring, evaluation and learning strategy.
Who we work with
The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) funds the program.
Our Health and Medical Research Office oversees this and other MRFF initiatives.
