About Disability Gateway
The Disability Gateway is a free national service for people of all ages, including those on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
The Disability Gateway offers:
- accessible support for all people with disability
- accurate and up-to-date information
- trusted services, with strict checks and regular updates to ensure quality.
It focuses on early help by connecting people to mainstream services in their local area.
It also supports Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031 by promoting positive community attitudes and informing government policy. The Disability Gateway contributes to our Reconciliation Action Plan by offering culturally appropriate information for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

- translated content in Auslan and other languages
- Easy Read versions of key information
- resources to support decision making, especially for people with intellectual disability

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- LGBTQIA+ communities
- specific disability types or diagnoses.
