About Accessible Australia
Accessible Australia is a national program that funds improvements to public buildings, playgrounds, beaches and parks to make it easier for people with disability to access and use them.
Government-owned and not-for-profit organisations can apply for this funding.
There are 4 streams:
- Changing Places – fixed and portable toilet facilities
- Inclusive beaches – portable equipment like beach wheelchairs, floating wheelchairs and accessible beach matting
- Inclusive National parks – portable amenities like all-terrain wheelchairs and accessible paths
- Inclusive play spaces – fixed equipment like liberty swings and all-access spinners.
Accessible Australia replaces the Changing Places initiative. It now includes more ways to make public spaces easier to use for people with disability.
