We have now published the Digital Health Blueprint 2023–2033 (the Blueprint) and Action Plan. The blueprint establishes a coordinated path to ensure we design digital and data reforms to ensure:

  • health information will follow Australians across their health and wellbeing journey to allow them to participate and make informed decisions about their care
  • our world-class health care professionals have access to a joined up, real-time view of their patient‘s health information at the point of care
  • our health system can safely and securely use health data generated at the point of care to inform health system planning and new treatments and therapies. This will ensure our health system can be more responsive to emerging technologies as they are developed.

The action plan highlights the initiatives the Australian Government is investing in to meet the outcomes identified in the blueprint. It outlines key delivery partners and progress. The action plan will be refreshed regularly to outline progress and to include new digital and data investments over time.

We would like to thank all stakeholders who participated and took time to partake in user research, consultation and engagement. Your involvement played a valuable role in the development of the blueprint and action plan.
