Share your thoughts on Community Visitor Schemes for people with disability

We are identifying opportunities to make Community Visitor Schemes more consistent across Australia. Share your feedback on a draft vision statement and draft principles to support people with disability living in shared accommodation and support settings across Australia.

Audience:
General public

Community visitors check in on people living in shared disability accommodation and support settings. They listen to what people need and support them to speak up if their rights aren’t being respected.

Right now, schemes work differently depending on where you live.

Last year, we heard from the disability community about how to make the schemes consistent across Australia. Using this feedback, we have developed a draft vision statement and 5 principles for Community Visitor Schemes.

We want to know if you think the principles are clear, practical and reflect what matters most. Your feedback will shape Community Visitor Schemes and ensure they work well for people with disability.
