Today, the Prime Minister along with the Health Minister Mark Butler announced the Stronger Medicare Awards.
In celebration of 40 years of Medicare, the Stronger Medicare Awards will recognise and honour the contribution of people working in the primary care sector in Australia, showcasing the vital role they play in Australia’s healthcare system.
Primary care is the foundation of our healthcare system, providing care in communities and connecting Australians to specialised medical care when needed. Delivered through general practice, community pharmacies, community health centres, mental health centres, and allied health services, primary care professionals and their support teams are often the first place Australians turn to for their general health needs.
The Stronger Medicare Awards will honour our Medicare Champions – outstanding individuals and practices that provide exceptional care, embrace innovation, and work together to improve the health of our communities.
More information about the nomination process will be available soon.
