Former State of Origin stars Petero Civoniceva and Geoff Toovey have joined Minister for Health, Mark Butler, and Cancer Council CEO, Dr Tanya Buchanan, to urge Australians to participate in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.
The program invites Australians aged 50 to 74, to screen for bowel cancer using a free, simple test at home.
This program plays a crucial role in the early detection and treatment of bowel cancer. However, only 44% of eligible Australians participate in these screenings. If participation rates reach 60%, the program could save 84,000 lives by 2040.
