We have released a series of training and resources to help:
- older people, their families and carers to understand what’s changing
- providers to set up new systems and processes
- workers to understand their new responsibilities.
Module 2: Aligning to changes covers:
- understanding the new Act
- leading change
- governance and accountability
- putting the Statement of Rights and Statement of Principles into practice
- supporting the needs of older people
- tools, systems and day-to-day practices
- complaints and whistleblower protections for workers
- Quality Standards in practice.
Older people, their families and carers can complete Module 2 for free:
- online via our website
- online via the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) learning management system
- by downloading the training as a document.
Providers and workers can access the training on Alis, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s online education platform. Access to Alis is free for Australian government-funded providers and workers.
The module only takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
It builds on Module 1: Understanding and adapting to the Aged Care Act 2024 which we released in June.
Further modules will be released soon.
