The Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP) supports practices and providers to deliver more bulk billed services for all Medicare-eligible patients.
Participation in BBPIP is now easier to monitor using new BBPIP eligibility assessments available through Services Australia.
These assessments include forecast assessments, final assessments and BBPIP payment details. They can help practices and providers:
- Check if they meet eligibility requirements
- Monitor bulk billing percentages
- Estimate their practice payment at a point-in-time
- View quarterly final payments
These features help practices stay on track to receive incentive payments.
If the practice is BBPIP registered and meets program requirements, it’s first incentive payment will be made in January 2026.
To ensure smooth payment, practices should
- Check the registration start date
- Add bank account details for practice and providers
- Keep accreditation details up to date
- Link all providers and ensure separate provider numbers for each site.
