$93 million for research into improved health for children, young people and the aged, medical devices, mental health and stem cell therapies

The 2024 Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care grant opportunity will provide $19 million for research that improves:

  • access to quality care for older people from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds
  • the quality of care for vulnerable older people.

The 2024 Enhancing Medical Device Surveillance Through Registries grant opportunity will provide $14 million for the collection and analysis of data on:

  • the medical devices and tools used to treat atrial fibrillation
  • devices and spinal procedures using with implantable devices.

The 2024 Maternal Health and Healthy Lifestyles grant opportunity will provide $31 million for research that:

  • improves the development of children in the first 2,000 days of life and the health of adolescents and young adults
  • reduces the incidence of cardiometabolic diseases after pregnancy and chronic conditions in Priority Populations.

The 2024 Mental Health Research grant opportunity will provide $19 million for projects that protect and improve mental health by:

  • developing new and improved preventions, interventions, treatments and models of care
  • increasing our knowledge about optimal models of personalised care and high-quality prevention strategies.

The 2024 Stem Cell Therapies grant opportunity will provide $10 million for projects that

  • generate novel approaches to cell-based therapy
  • accelerate the discovery of new treatments for disease using stem cell-based models.
