Traumatic brain injury is a major cause of disability and death in Australia. Common causes are falls, car accidents and assault. These injuries can lead to complex, long-term problems affecting patients’ personalities, relationships and independence.

The MRFF’s 2026 Traumatic Brain Injury grant opportunity will provide up to $5 million for research that improves:

  • acute care and/or long-term outcomes for people with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury
  • the uptake of, and access to, best practice care for people with mild traumatic brain injury.

Funding is from the MRFF’s Traumatic Brain Injury Mission.

Visit GrantConnect and the MRFF calendar for information on all MRFF grant opportunities.
