$37 million for cardiovascular disease and diabetes research

The 2025 Targeted Translation Research Accelerator – Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes Models of Care grant opportunity will provide up to $20 million for large-scale projects that develop: 

  • technology-enabled, patient-centred models of care for people with cardiovascular disease or diabetes (type 1 or 2) 
  • technology-enabled, patient-centred models of care for people with both cardiovascular disease and diabetes (type 1 or 2). 

Up to $17 million is available under the 2025 Targeted Translation Research Accelerator – Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes Risk Prediction and Data Solutions grant opportunity for projects that: 

  • find predictive markers of disease or complications in diabetes and cardiovascular disease in patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes 
  • use existing data sources to develop and apply new ways to prevent or treat cardiovascular disease, diabetes (types 1 and/or 2), and related complications.
