$26 million for research to improve the health of LGBTIQA+ communities

The Australian Government will invest $26 million in health and medical research to improve treatment and care for LGBTIQA+ people. Funding is from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF).

The MRFF’s Emerging Priorities and Consumer-Driven Research initiative will provide $26 million for research that will improve the physical and mental health of:

  • sexuality and/or gender diverse people
  • transgender people
  • people born with innate variations of sex characteristics.
