The World Transplant Games (the Games) is the largest sporting event for organ transplant recipients in the world. From Saturday 15 April to Friday 21 April 2023, Perth will host over 1500 athletes and supporters from over 50 countries.

The Games is a global celebration of the gift of life: organ and tissue donation. It provides a unique opportunity to showcase the success of transplantation through the lives and athletic feats of transplant recipients.

This event will not only help to raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation, it will also promote a second chance of life as transplant recipients compete in high exertion and low impact sports.

The seven-day program features 17 different sporting competitions, ranging from athletics to ten pin bowling. This will be the third Games in Australia, with previous events held in Sydney in 1997 and the Gold Coast in 2009.

The Australian Government is proud to support the World Transplant Games 2023 and wishes all athletes the best of luck in their competitions. This event is one of many major sporting events coming to Australia as part of the green and gold decade of events. Check out which major sporting events are coming down under!
