IDPwD is an annual United Nations observed day recognised around the world. It aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of the 5.5 million Australians with disability.
The United Nations theme for IDPwD 2025 is:
- Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.
In Australia, IDPwD is a joint effort between government, schools, organisations, community groups, businesses and individuals.
We support the IDPwD as part of our commitment to uphold the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. We run a national IDPwD program to help promote and raise awareness of this day.
