Hearing Services Program Provider Notice 2026-8 – Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026-27

Please note that the previous provider notice (2026-4) issued on 16 June 2026 regarding this matter has now been removed from the Hearing website as it referred to a previous version of the Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026-27 which has subsequently been updated.

Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026–27  

Updates to this schedule have been made to provide further clarification and consolidation for service requirements as well as the update to the Fees based on annual indexation.  

The main updates to the Schedule include: 

  • The annual indexation of the Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026-27. 
  • Introduction of definitions for Audiologist, Audiometrist and Restricted Scope Audiologists. This recognises new membership categories for Audiologists practising within a limited scope, aligning with an Audiometrist and has been developed in consultation with the Professional Peak Bodies.   • Update to Part 2 Program Requirements - The Commonwealth is not required to pay a Service Provider if a claim was submitted six (6) months or more after the Date of Service. This has been updated to align with the current Service Provider Contract (12). 
  • Update to Client Cost requirements to include: 
  • (1) For fully subsidised devices, the client may be charged up to the specified maintenance Co-payment listed in the Schedule of Fees, unless waived. 
  • Update to Client Consent and Agreement to include for text message consent: 
  • the message to the client must include an easily identifiable link to the terms and conditions or a copy of the agreement; 
  • Managing data breaches - removed in its entirety to eliminate conflict with Data breach requirements in the Service Provider Contract (20). 
  • Clause numbering changed from Clauses 33 to 85 due to the deletion of clause 33 above.  
  • Requirements for Claiming Remote Control items updated to include: 
  • The client must not be charged for a Remote Control claimed under the program. 

The Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026–27 includes a table outlining all changes in Part 6. 

The Schedule of Service Items and Fees 2026-27 is effective from 1 July 2026.
