The Australian Government wants to make support services better for unpaid carers. You’re invited to share your thoughts by filling out a short survey.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is working with Nous Group to hear from unpaid carers across Australia. This is part of putting the National Carer Strategy into action.

The survey will help explore ways to:

Improve access to counselling, mental health support, and respite care

Provide better support for:

  • First Nations carers
  • Carers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds
  • LGBTQIA+ carers
  • Carers with disability
  • Carers of veterans
  • Young carers.

The survey will ask:

  • What changes would make the biggest difference for carers?
  • What does good support look like to you?

Unpaid carers are people who look after someone without being paid. You can participate if you care for someone with a disability, a medical condition (including chronic or terminal illness), a mental illness or someone who is frail due to ageing.

Call to action: Have your say by completing the survey at National Carer Strategy survey by 11.59pm (AEDT), Wednesday 19 November 2025.
