Feeling down, worried, stressed, or overwhelmed? Medicare Mental Health Check In is a new, free service that can connect you with a trained practitioner via telehealth.

Medicare Mental Health Check In delivers free evidence-based Low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy through online tools.

The service offers a safe, supportive space for people to talk about what they are experiencing and work through online tools together to build confidence and learn practical skills to manage life’s ups and downs.

The evidence-based online tools:

  • are free for people living in Australia
  • are available to anyone aged 16 and older
  • do not require a diagnosis or referral.

If you prefer to go at your own pace, from 30 May 2026 you can use the online tools on your own. You can also choose to connect with a trained practitioner along the way if you want extra support.

Find out if it’s right for you:

  • call Medicare Mental Health on 1800 595 212 (8:30am – 5pm on weekdays, excluding public holidays)
  • visit the Medicare Mental Health Check In website.
