There is a new timeframe for finalising Support at Home service agreements under the Aged Care (Consequential and Transitional Provisions) Rules 2025.

You must continue delivering services to Support at Home participants with an existing Home Care Agreement for a limited time.

From the date a transitioned participant’s confirmed contribution rate is calculated:

  • you have 30 days to reach out them to begin finalising or varying their service agreement
  • your participant has 90 days to sign their service agreement.

We encourage you to finalise outstanding service agreements as soon as possible, especially for participants who:

  • already know what their contribution rate will be (e.g. full pensioner)
  • are confident with their estimated contribution rate from Services Australia or the Support at Home fee estimator.

For participants waiting for their confirmed contribution rate from Services Australia, you can negotiate alternative arrangements for prices and participant contributions.

If a participant does not sign a service agreement after 90 days, you may cease services. You must notify participants in writing 14 days before ceasing services.
