Be counted as part of the Health and Medical Research Workforce Audit

Are you a health and medical researcher or do you support health and medical research activities? Have you had these roles in the past but left to work in another sector? If so, we want to hear from you.

We are undertaking a national audit of Australia’s health and medical research workforce to map current capacity, capability, strengths and gaps. We also want to understand people’s experiences as their careers progress, why people move and how research skills and expertise can enrich other sectors.

As part of this work, we are conducting the Australian Health and Medical Research Workforce Survey and would like to hear from people:

  • in a university, medical research institute, hospital or clinical services, pharmaceutical or medical technology company or elsewhere
  • about to start their career or close to retirement
  • who are, or were, conducting research as part of their main job or as a secondary activity.

The survey is open until 9 August 2024.

The outcomes of the audit will inform the National Health and Medical Research Strategy, future policy and decision-making.
