Be Brave. Make Change.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements. It is also time to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The 2022 theme is ‘Be Brave. Make Change’ and challenges us all to be brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can make change for all. The brave characters by illustrator, Tori-Jay Mordey, show just some of the different faces of Australians working for a just and equal society.

The NRW dates remain the same each year, 27 May to 3 June to commemorate the significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation. In playing our part we build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, histories, cultures, and futures.

This year everyone is asked to make change beginning with brave actions in their daily lives – where they live, work and socialise.
