A pharmacist wishing to supply PBS medicines to the community, and claim reimbursement for those supplies from Government, must be approved under section 90 of the National Health Act 1953. A pharmacist wishing to apply for approval to supply PBS medicines by establishing a new pharmacy, or relocating an existing approved pharmacy, must make an application to the department, for consideration by the ACPA against the requirements of the Pharmacy Location Rules.
The ACPA’s meeting dates for 2026, and the corresponding timeframe to submit an application through the PBS Approved Suppliers Portal, are now available on the department’s website.
