$7.5 million boost to hearing health research

The Australian Government has provided close to $7.5 million to support research into improving ear and hearing health. The grants fund 9 research projects focusing on the health and wellbeing of those living with hearing impairments and preventing hearing loss.

The National Health and Medical Research Council is providing funding for these research grants over the next 3 years.

Research projects will focus on areas such as:

  • improving access to hearing health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
  • newborn hearing screening national standards
  • psychosocial and emotional impacts of hearing conditions.
